Presentations at GAMM Annual Meeting and DAGA 2026

Recent results for the NEPTUN project were reported at the 2026 annual meetings of the International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM) and the German Acoustical Society (DAGA).

At the 2026 GAMM, which took place from March 16th to 20th in Stuttgart, Olga Friesen (subproject MESS) presented initial results on the observation and modelling of nonlinear stationary behaviour of piezoelectric components in her talk “Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Jump Phenomena in the Frequency Response of Piezoelectric Systems”. On a topic with relations to the NEPTUN project Jonas H?lscher described a numerical approach for time-domain, nonlinear elastic effects in “Modeling Nonlinear Acoustic Wave Propagation with Third-Order Elastic Constants Using the Finite Element Method”.

The German Acoustical Society met in Dresden from March 23rd to 26th. Here Carsten Spieker (subproject SIM with support from subproject OPT) reported on the multiphysical thermo-piezoelectric and multiscale modelling of piezoelectric components in his talk “Modellierung und Simulation des temperaturabh?ngigen Materialverhaltens von Piezokeramiken mit FEniCS”. The conference proceedings for all three talks will soon be available on the project's list of publications.
