COLOURS at the Anti-Racism Action Day 2026

As part of the Action Weeks Against Racism in Paderborn 2026, COLOURS co-organised and participated at the Anti-Racism Action Day at Paderborn University.

A particular highlight of the day was the formal opening of the indoor edition of the ToleranzR?ume (Spaces of Tolerance) exhibition by Prof. Dr. Heike Trautmann. Vice President for International Relations and President of the COLOURS European University Alliance. The subsequent bilingual guided tour offered profound insights into diverse lived experiences and encouraged thoughtful reflection on what tolerance and coexistence truly mean in today’s society.

Throughout the day, many attendees visited the COLOURS information booth to learn more about the alliance’s initiatives and explore opportunities for involvement. The COLOURS snack corner provided a welcoming space for lively conversations and new connections. Beyond providing information, the event reflected the alliance’s overarching goal of connecting people, ideas, and perspectives.

The travelling exhibition will remain on display in the university library until 10 May, accessible during regular opening hours. In addition to the physical installation, the Centre for Information and Media Technology (ZIM) and the @GamesLab at Paderborn University have developed a virtual counterpart. Visitors can explore ToleranzR?umeVR either via their web browser or through a VR headset. Further details and access to the application are available on the project website.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed with great commitment to the success of this inspiring Action Day!
