"Women and urban planning": COLOURS university alliance format for International Women's Day

Location: Rathausplatz Paderborn

To mark International Women's Day, the City of Paderborn's Equal Opportunities Office is focussing on the topic of "Women - Urban Planning - Third Places". The Implementation Office of the European University Alliance COLOURS is organising an interactive format on Saturday, 7 March, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on the town hall square in Paderborn. After a short presentation on "Equality Diversity Inclusion" (EDI)[1] by Aminah Schneider, Communication Manager, Dr Isabelle Leitloff, Implementation Office Lead, and Markus Wienkemeier, Alliance Student Assistant, entitled "Why the EDI view in urban planning is more than 'just gender'", an interactive part will follow. In small exercises, the participants collect local challenges in order to then concretise and prioritise them. This will result in a "challenge map", i.e. an overview of the most pressing issues in Paderborn. Admission is free and registration is not required.

The event will take place at the so-called "Market of Opportunities for International Women's Day" in the centre of Rathausplatz. The City of Paderborn's Equal Opportunities Office offers women's networks and groups as well as institutions and advice centres the opportunity to provide information about their services. COLOURS is represented with an information stand and offers on-site advice on the COLOURS Alliance, its activities, formats and opportunities for participation.

If you have any questions about the event, please contact the COLOURS Implementation Office at implementation.colours@upb.de.

[1] "Equality Diversity Inclusion" (EDI) describes the conscious handling of different perspectives, life realities and identities. According to this, structures should be designed in such a way that differences are respected, discrimination is reduced and everyone can participate on an equal footing.
